-Went into a Malay public school,
Taught about the Malays who built that school,
Wrote poems about Malay pride,
How this nation in the name of Malays thrive,
Islam and Malay is the blood in your flesh,
Thou shalt keep it 'til your life comes to waste,
Speak Malay as pure and poetic as possible,
Learn Malay culture so you'd be acceptable,
Read Sulalatus-Salatin, the historic Malay Annals,
How the sultanates to your heart appeals,
But still deep down I'm a heathen, a Melanau and an outsider,
I'm almost Malay but in Malay-ness I'm not a believer.
